Tagging trucks (TrukTag)
What TrukTag is
Tag a truck, cart or pop-up that is not on HeyTruk yet, from in front of it. It goes on your map at once and is listed for everyone once reviewed.
TrukTag is how fans put merchants on the map. Standing in front of a truck, cart or pop-up that is not on HeyTruk, you take a photo of it and its sign; it appears on your map at once, and after review it is listed for everyone.
Why it matters
Most merchants in New York have never heard of HeyTruk. A tag gives them a listing with a spot and a menu, and HeyTruk reaches out to them. When they claim it, you were the one who put them there.
What you earn
- 25 points when you submit a tag.
- 250 points when the tag is reviewed and listed.
- 100 points more if you are the first to tag a merchant on that block.
- 100 points for adding their menu board, 50 for a contact (their handle), and 25 for confirming a tag someone else made.
- The First Tag badge, and the Tagger ladder as you go.
Where it lives
Tap Tag a Truk from the map or a merchant's page, and see your tags under Me → Tagged.
