Privacy and location

Your privacy settings

Me → Settings → Privacy:

• Share my activity: the master switch. Nothing shares when it is off.
• What shows up, each with its own switch: trucks you rank with your score; Bite Notes you log (photo, dish and note); when you save a truck to your chase list; trucks you share to your feed; trucks you tag and when one goes on the map; menus you add and when a board goes live; new personal-best FoodRUN scores; rewards and merch you heart in Truk Shop.
• Show my Chasing list: whether people who view your profile see the trucks you are chasing.
• Count visits from Square receipts: when you type your phone number or email for a Square receipt at a HeyTruk merchant, the visit counts toward stamps and Passports.

Location

• The app reads your location to pick the active Radar and to show Near Me results. It stores the locations you save as Radars, not where you go.
• With location set to Always, the app reads location in the background to pick your Radar and, if you turned on Ask me about lines, to ask about the line when you arrive at a truck. Nothing is stored from that except your answer.
• Tags you submit carry the location where you took the photo; that is the merchant's spot, and it is what gets listed.

What merchants see

• Demand by area: how many Radars cover a spot, as a count. Never who, never an address.
• How many Regulars they have and how many people follow them, as counts.
• Your name on a Bite Note, ranking or offer claim you made at their truck, the same as anyone sees on their page.
• When you redeem an offer or reward at their window, that you did.

Merchants never see your phone number, email, location or other merchants you visit.

Your data

Download my data exports everything. Delete your account removes it. The full Privacy Policy is under Settings → Legal.
