Alerts (your Heys)
Why did I not get an alert?
Work down this list: paused, outside alert hours, the truck's own setting, outside your Radar, the daily caps, a quieted truck, phone permissions, background location.
A Hey needs several things to line up. Check them in this order; the first one that is wrong is usually the answer.
- Alerts are paused. Me → Settings → Pause alerts must be off.
- It is outside your alert hours. Check the windows under Settings → Alert hours, and the This radar listens hours on the Radar you were near.
- The truck's setting is "Only when something changes". A truck with a regular spot opening at its usual spot and hours does not send a Hey on that setting. Change it to Every time they open from the bell on their page.
- The truck did not pull up. A scheduled stop is not a Hey. The alert sends when the merchant marks themselves live, or, for scheduled merchants, when their window opens. If they never went live, no Hey.
- They opened outside your Radar. Followed trucks only buzz inside the range of your active Radar; only trucks where you are a Regular alert you anywhere. Check which Radar was active (the pill on Home) and whether its range reaches that spot.
- You already heard from them today, or hit the daily cap. One Hey per truck per day, five a day in total.
- The truck was quieted. After three ignored Heys in a row, the app stops alerting for that truck. Look for the banner and tap Turn alerts back on.
- Notifications are off on your phone. Phone Settings → Notifications → HeyTruk must allow alerts. Check Focus modes too.
- Background location is off. With location set to While Using, the app cannot pick the right Radar when it is closed and uses your last active one. Set it to Always if you want alerts to follow you between places. See Background location.
- It was a new truck and you chose Summary only. Under Me → Alerts → New trucks in your Radar, switch to Alert me.
If all ten check out and the Hey still did not arrive, contact support with the truck's name, the date and time, and which Radar was active.
